England reached 182/2 at the end of the first session of the second day of the third Test, extending their lead to 104 runs against India at Headingley in Leeds on Thursday.
David Malan (27*) and skipper Joe Root (14*) were at the crease during the break. Earlier, Rory Burns (61) and Haseeb Hameed (68) were dismissed by Mohammed Shami (1/52) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/16) respectively. On the first day, England shot out India for a paltry 78 and cruised to 120/0 in their reply. India are 1-0 up in the five-Test series having won the second Test by 151 runs.
